About us |

In Haiti, healthcare remains a major challenge. Haiti has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the region, while preventable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and sexually transmitted infections continue to wreak havoc. Added to this are inadequate infrastructure, often unaffordable healthcare, and a critical lack of information tailored to the population. Too many lives are still lost due to a lack of prevention and accessible medical knowledge.

Vizit Doktè was created to respond to this urgent need. Our mission is simple but essential: to make medicine understandable and accessible to everyone. We translate medical knowledge into Haitian Creole, develop prevention campaigns, and create spaces for exchange between healthcare workers and citizens so that everyone can make informed decisions about their health.

Our approach is based on three pillars: education, prevention, and solidarity. We believe that the best medicine is the kind that starts before illness, and that health should be a right, not a privilege.

Through our initiatives, we are turning this vision into action:

KLINIK SANTE FANM: a clinic dedicated to women, designed to meet their specific reproductive, sexual, maternal, and mental health needs.

MEDICASH: a mutual health insurance scheme inspired by the Haitian konbit, which allows everyone to contribute to a stronger, more accessible, and more sustainable healthcare system.

Vizit Doktè is more than an organization: it is a movement for the health, dignity, and future of Haiti. We believe that a stronger country begins with better-informed and better-protected citizens.
